Meet Sarah Stone! Sarah has been the back bone of Boston Catering & Events planning team for the last 17 years. She constantly out does herself with each event she plans and constantly wows our clients with her organizational skills and ability to create unforgettable events every time.
The culinary arts and cooking have been part of Sarah’s life since she was young. She grew up in New England, went to culinary school at J& W and interned at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Florida, cooking for their signature restaurant. She has also spent time in jobs spanning both the front & back of the house at private country clubs and restaurants in Boston.
After Sarah got married, she spent time running her family owned business and raising her three children. The world of cooking and planning events was still close to her heart. She loved to plan themed birthday parties for her children and eventually Halloween parties for the adults too. She still loved to cook and would moonlight as an on-call Chef! Some of her favorite cuisines are French, African, and Korean.
Spending time with her family and friends, including her King Charles Cavalier puppy named, Cooper, are just a few things Sarah loves to do. She also has a self-proclaimed fishing obsession, is an award winning quilter, and enjoys watching football and boxing. You can find her on a beautiful day riding her Harley Davidson with her riding club, Women on Wheels (WOW).
Here’s how Sarah feels about working at Boston Catering & Events:
“I have the best job in the world. I get to go to work and plan parties! I work with a great team and am eager to exceed my client’s expectations while creating long-lasting relationships. I have had many memorable events over the years but one client & I have worked on their 500-person event at deCordova Museum for the past 5 years.
Each year we choose a different theme and it is held on a gorgeous summer night. We set up both indoor and outdoor displays, so their employees can enjoy a little bit of everything. There is always a shrimp display that is very popular. One year was a nautical theme and we used sand in the décor and instead of sand castles we carved the word shrimp in the sand!
Under the beautiful outdoor tents, we offer chef active stations. One of my favorites is the upscale taco bar with different moles and chimichurri’s. It’s the perfect setting for a summer reception. Our Sushi bar and Mediterranean stations are a hit too!”
