Irish Drink Recipes
Minted Chocolate Shake
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 pint green mint chocolate chip ice cream
- 1 teaspoon pure mint extract
- 3 tablespoons dark rum
- Mint sprigs, for garnish
Put the milk, ice cream, mint extract and rum into a blender. Blend on high until smooth, about 15 seconds. Pour into 2 chilled glasses and garnish with a sprig of mint.
Irish Floridian
- Freshly brewed coffee
- 1/2-ounce orange liqueur
- 1/2-ounce Irish whiskey
- Whipped cream
Fill a mug most of the way with hot coffee. Stir in orange liqueur and Irish whiskey, to taste. Add a heaping dollop of whipped cream and drizzle with cr¸me de menthe.
Green Irish Tea
- 1 quart water plus 1 cup, divided
- 4 tea bags, green tea or Irish tea
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 sprigs fresh mint
- 3 limes, juiced
Bring 1 quart of water to a boil, turn the heat off and add the tea bags and let steep until cool. Place the sugar and 1 cup of water in a sauce pot over high heat, bring up to a boil to dissolve the sugar and then turn off the heat, and allow cooling. Place the mint springs in a large pitcher, add the cooled sugar water and cooled tea along with the lime juice, stir to smash around the mint in the liquids. Pour over ice and serve.
